Creative Uses for Vintage Ads
There are many ways you can use vintage ads – both in your home decor and for your art projects. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Save this image to your computer (right-click and choose “Save Image As”, then use the digital copy in your digital art projects.
- Resize the digital image and use it as a cover for a handmade notepad or travel journal.
- Print a color copy of the ad, frame it and hang it in your home or office – a fun blast from the past.
- Print color copies and use them as gift wrap for small gifts – especially fun for people who love vintage.
- Print enlarged color copies of the digital file, then laminate the copies and use them as placemats – sure to be a conversation starter at the dinner table.
- Use printed color (or black and white) copies for your decoupage projects (laser printer copies work better than ink jet copies).
- Print the ad on iron-on transfer paper and create t-shirts, tote bags, napkins, and other craft ideas with fabric.
- Turn printed copies of the ad into paper garland. Just trim the paper into any shape you prefer (such as a pennant flag), punch two holes in the top and thread twine through the holes to create a garland.
