Every week, I scour the internet to find interesting articles or websites to share with you. Sometimes related to home decor, often times related to vintage, and always fun and interesting! Topics that start conversations, teach you something new, or make you think.
Pour yourself a cup of coffee and tune in each Saturday for “The Conversation Piece” – you never know what we’ll discover to talk about!
The Conversation Piece this Week
Lots of people collect lots of things. And these collectibles are often used and displayed in many ways.
This week I read an article on One Kings Lane called “6 Top Designers on Collecting and Displaying Treasured Finds“. It was the globes that drew me in (have I mentioned before that I have a weakness for vintage globes?)
Those vintage globes – what can I say? They always catch my eye. I want to have at least three vintage globes in every room of our house. They’re classic. They’re cool. They’re educational!
And vintage frames? Oh my! Even with nothing displayed within the frames, they look fabulous hung on a wall!
Those white book spines?! Just my thing! I actually like to display my books backwards in our home library so that the pages show and the book spines are toward the back of the shelves. All that paper deserves to be seen!
How about hotel silver? That is just too cool not to be put on display. I especially love pieces that are tarnished – you can’t get that tarnished patina in any way but over time!
Oh, those natural wonders! Yes, small animal figures are awesome (I especially love monkeys, birds, and flamingos), but I also love anything with flowers or leaves. Nothing like those natural (vintage) touches to create an interesting conversation piece!
Let’s Start the Conversation!
What do YOU love to collect, and how do you display your vintage collectibles? We’d love to hear about it!

Love the globes…they are beautiful and perfect for a den, office, or just about anywhere! I like to collect rocks, sea glass, pine cones, driftwood, etc. I sometimes create a little scene or I put in vintage colored glass containers or baskets. I love bringing the outside in so I can enjoy even when the weather isn’t the best.
So True! Pictures of any objects displayed are just Amazing! and the Globes! oh such Wow!:) Merci JD for sharing.
