While our post office is celebrating a day off of work today for the New Year, I get to celebrate, too!
As a business owner, we have a routine around here – as soon as we get into the shop, it’s time to print orders from the previous day and get them packaged and shipped. Since 85% of all packages we ship are through the United States Post Office, on days when there is no mail, we get a small break from packaging! Yay! Why is this something to be excited about? Because it gives us a few more hours to whittle down that ever-expanding to-do list, AND it gives us a chance to get out in the morning for a quick adventure!
Of course the reality is, tomorrow we’ll have even more packaging to do in the morning… but today, we celebrate!
USPS BUSINESS TIPS:
- The USPS offers FREE Priority Mail shipping boxes and envelopes. Priority Mail is almost always less expensive to ship than Parcel Select, especially when you factor in the free box! Take advantage of this for your small business! Order your FREE shipping supplies and the USPS will deliver them to your door for FREE!
- Not sure what to charge for shipping? Check out the USPS Shipping Calculator. It will calculate the actual shipping charge for both domestic and international packages. Cool, eh?
- Did you know that you don’t have to make a trip to the post office to drop off your packages? Yep, that’s right! The USPS offers FREE package pick-ups Monday through Saturday! You can schedule your pick-up a day in advance, or schedule a pick-up for the entire year in advance. Very cool!
